Basketball Game Preview: Marissa/Coulterville Meteors vs. Wesclin Warriors

The Marissa/Coulterville Meteors will face off against the Wesclin Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wesclin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Marissa/Coulterville, who comes in off a win.

Marissa/Coulterville is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Steeleville: they outscored them in every quarter. Marissa/Coulterville walked away with a 43-30 win over Steeleville on Wednesday. Given the Meteors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Warriors are ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wesclin's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The contest between them and Carlyle didn't end well, with Wesclin falling 51-36.

Wesclin's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-10. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season.
