The Caldwell Redskins will face off against the Frontier Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Caldwell will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Caldwell is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Shadyside on Thursday as they made off with a 17-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Makayla Mumaw made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other batting news, Caldwell got a massive performance out of Mea Hendershot, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those four hits gave Hendershot a new career-high. Mattie Hessson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Caldwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shadyside only posted an OBP of .300.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Frontier, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Federal Hocking on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 17th.
Mikayla Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Kate Congleton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeley Barrows, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Frontier, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Caldwell hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Frontier struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Caldwell's way against Frontier when the teams last played back in March, as Caldwell made off with a 12-4 victory. Do the Redskins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
