Football Recap: Cyril Pirates vs. Weleetka Outlaws
Friday just wasn't the day for Cyril's offense. They were outmatched by the Weleetka Outlaws at home and fell 50-0. That makes it the first time this season the Pirates have let down their home crowd.
A big part of Weleetka's win came down to the chemistry between Isaiah Drake and his top target Bryant Sites. Drake rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns while Sites picked up 161 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Sites was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Cyril's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Weleetka, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Cyril is taking a road trip to challenge Wetumka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wetumka will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Cyril surely won't give up without a fight. As for Weleetka, they will welcome Thackerville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weleetka will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
