Soccer Recap: Grosse Pointe North Comes Up Short

Grosse Pointe North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Grosse Pointe North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Grosse Pointe South are ranked 172nd).

Grosse Pointe North's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Grosse Pointe South, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-2.

Grosse Pointe North wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Port Huron Northern on the 9th. As for Grosse Pointe South, they will head out to square off against St. Clair at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Clair's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
