Volleyball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Drew Charter. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10, 25-19.

Drew Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maya Aquino led the charge by getting 11 aces. Another player making a difference was Althea Byers, who had eight aces.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Drew Charter, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Columbia will take on Towers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Drew Charter, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Morrow at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Drew Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
