Baseball Recap: Old Forge Find Success

Old Forge's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Holy Cross Crusaders by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in April.

Jake Bartnikowski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Elio Castaldi was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Old Forge is 3-1 when Castaldi posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Luke Olivieri was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Old Forge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Old Forge's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Holy Cross, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
