Sonora had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Oakdale Mustangs 32-14 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on eight straight dating back to last season.

Sonora's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Ingalls, who rushed for 78 yards and one TD, and also threw for 120 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes. The Wildcats' leading receiver Steven Morfoot was Ingalls' top target yet again, picking up 96 receiving yards and one score.

Sonora and Oakdale should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (119 vs. 623). Meanwhile, Oakdale (ranked 116th) will meet Lincoln (ranked 233rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
