Football Recap: Watertown Purple Tigers vs. Grundy County Yellowjackets
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Watertown). They slipped by the Grundy County Yellowjackets 45-44 on Thursday. The Purple Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.
It was another big night for Blake Waldorf, who rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Grundy County still got an impressive performance from Vince Bryant, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Bryant also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Another player making a difference was Aj Frisbee, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Watertown's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Grundy County, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5.
Watertown is on the road again on Friday to play Macon County at 7:00 p.m. Macon County's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Watertown's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Grundy County, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sequatchie County at 7:00 p.m. Sequatchie County will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Grundy County surely won't give up without a fight.
