Mission Trail recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Mission Trail this week, Carmel beat Pacific Grove 40-35. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Padres.
King City took down Gonzales 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chase Barbree threw for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 15 yards in the win.
He was 17-28 with 2 interceptions.
Connor Marden provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Carmel topped the Breakers. He completed 14 passes for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 78 yards. Marden's key target this week was Thomas Spanos, who caught 9 passes for 218 yards.
Spanos had an awesome week catching the football as Golden Anderson's team defeated Pacific Grove. He caught 9 passes for 218 yards.
Spanos was the best wideout in the league this week as the Padres topped Chris Morgan's team. John Stivers helped Carmel's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Jake Speed. The Pacific Grove star has 38 catches for 855 yards.
Going into this week's contest against Live Oak, the Breakers' Luke Lowell needs 171 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 28 touchdowns this year, Lowell has thrown for 1,829 yards with 5 interceptions.
Carmel and Pacific Grove played the closest game in the league this week, with Carmel eventually emerging with a 40-35 victory. Marden ran for 78 yards during the win.
