Softball Recap: Neumann Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Neumann had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-5 back in March.

Sophia Escobar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Cecilia Spencer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jesse Camejo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Neumann kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Neumann has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Seacrest Country Day, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-7.

As of now, neither Neumann nor the Stingrays have any future games scheduled.
