Softball Recap: Kennewick Comes Up Short

Kennewick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 17-8 to the Hanford Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 on Friday.

Mayce Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izabella Serrano, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Kennewick's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hanford, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennewick will square off against Kamiakin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennewick's pitchers better be ready for this one: Kamiakin has averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season. As for Hanford, they will be playing at home against Hermiston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanford's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hermiston has averaged an impressive 15 runs per game this season.
