Recap: Pine Grove Cardinals vs. Pottsville Crimson Tide
The Pine Grove Cardinals were the 47-41 winner over the Pottsville Crimson Tide when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Pine Grove was outmatched by Pottsville at home and fell 65-37. Pine Grove has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pottsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Alvarez, who scored 16 points. The match was Alvarez's third in a row with at least ten points. Derek Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Pine Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pottsville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Grove will take on Northern Lebanon at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pottsville, they will be playing at home against Hazleton Area at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
