Arvada West triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Sara Walker

Recap: Arvada West Wildcats vs. Lakewood Tigers

The Arvada West Wildcats won the last time they faced the Lakewood Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Arvada West walked away with a 48-40 victory over Lakewood.

Sara Walker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Harrison, who scored eight points along with three blocks.

Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Dyani Parrish, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Parrish continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Iben Last was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.

Arvada West's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5. As for Lakewood, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arvada West will take on Columbine at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Columbine is ranked 37th, while Arvada West is ranked 57th). As for Lakewood, they will be playing at home against Valor Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Valor Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
