Football Recap: Presbyterian Christian Piles Up the Points Against St. Patrick

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Presbyterian Christian). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 36-0 win over the St. Patrick Fighting Irish. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bobcats just coasted through the last quarter.

Smith Stringer produced another solid performance throwing for 227 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 145.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Reece Tomlinson was Stringer's top target, picking up 68 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Presbyterian Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kade Welford and Laythan Peters.

Presbyterian Christian's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for St. Patrick, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Presbyterian Christian will head out to challenge Greene County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Stringer and Gage Stinson. As for St. Patrick, they will venture away from home to take on West Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Irish will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
