Baseball Recap: Ashland Beats Westborough for Their Fourth Straight Win

Ashland entered their tilt with Westborough on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rangers 7-5. That's two games straight that the Clockers have won by exactly two runs.

Michael Schreiber made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian McKaughan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Ashland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ashland's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Westborough, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
