Baseball Game Preview: Bangs Dragons vs. Goldthwaite Eagles

The Bangs Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Goldthwaite Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Goldthwaite took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bangs, who comes in off a win.

Bangs is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 4, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Forsan 7-6.

Connor Bible was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Bangs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jackson Edmisten also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Goldthwaite fell just short of Johnson City by a score of 7-5. Goldthwaite has struggled against Johnson City recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Bangs' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Goldthwaite, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Bangs suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Goldthwaite in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
