The Warhill Lions will face off against the Rappahannock Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Warhill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 15 runs per game this season.

Warhill's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Poquoson hitters got past them. The Lions fell just short of the Islanders by a score of 10-9 on Friday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Islanders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Payton Auerbach - GMU was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mallory Herspold, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rappahannock). They came out on top against Fredericksburg Christian by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday.

Rappahannock's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Warhill, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Everything went Warhill's way against Rappahannock in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Warhill made off with a 15-5 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
