Baseball Game Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Midlothian Panthers

The Denton Broncos will take on the Midlothian Panthers in a tournament on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Denton: 2.9, Midlothian: 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Denton picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against Bowie by a score of 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Volunteers: they've now won five in a row.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Jacob Turner also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Midlothian came up short against Arlington on Friday and fell 6-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Denton's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-2. As for Midlothian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
