Basketball Recap: Paseo Academy of Performing Arts Comes Up Short

Paseo Academy of Performing Arts was the 64-51 winner over East when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Paseo Academy of Performing Arts Pirates took a hard 68-53 fall against East on Friday.

East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathan Bruce led the charge by shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Bruce is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mike Conway, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards.

Paseo Academy of Performing Arts' defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Paseo Academy of Performing Arts nor East have any future games scheduled.
