Softball Recap: Ferris Wins Going Away Against Alvarado

Ferris made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Alvarado, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ferris blew past Alvarado 16-1 on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Madeline Welling was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Arianna Turner was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Ferris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are undefeated (7-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ferris now has a winning record of 10-9-2. As for Alvarado, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Coming up, Ferris will square off against Life Waxahachie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ferris is facing Life Waxahachie at the right time seeing as Life Waxahachie is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Alvarado, they will venture away from home to challenge Hillsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillsboro has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.65 runs per game on average), something Alvarado will no doubt try to take advantage of.
