Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palmer Trinity can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Falcons have struggled against the ThunderWolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Hailey Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Gina Marie Pineda also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Palmer Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Oxbridge Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Palmer Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oxbridge Academy, they will face off against Westminster Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the ThunderWolves 3.1, the Warriors 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
