Softball Game Preview: Northeast Eagles vs. Crofton

The Northeast Eagles will challenge Crofton at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Northeast will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Northeast is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: Broadneck, who was ranked 18th at the time (Northeast was ranked second). The Eagles came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday.

Presley McGinty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brynn Jones was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Crofton fell victim to Broadneck and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 1-0.

Northeast pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crofton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Northeast beat Crofton 5-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crofton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
