Baseball Recap: Kouts Starts Season with Victory Against North Judson-San Pierre

Kouts had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Mustangs & Fillies have beaten the Bluejays the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bluejays has come to flipping the script.

Noah Gudeman made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Garrett, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Reid Estill was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Kouts kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Kouts has already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Glenn on the 10th. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will take on Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
