Basketball Recap: Neptune's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

Neptune and Cherry Hill West squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Neptune had to settle for second. They took a 52-36 bruising from the Cherry Hill West Lions. The Scarlet Fliers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Several Scarlet Fliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyeera Howard, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 38.9% of Neptune's points, marking the fifth time in a row Howard has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christa Ramos, who earned 11 points and six boards.

Neptune's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Cherry Hill West, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Neptune nor Cherry Hill West have any future games scheduled.
