Baseball Recap: Oxnard Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oxnard's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Ventura Cougars on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Oxnard has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ventura, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

While Oxnard had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
