            Baseball Preview: Chatham Central Bears vs. Northern Nash Knights        
        
		
        
        
            The Chatham Central Bears will face off against the Northern Nash Knights at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Chatham Central has given up an average of 7.9  runs per game this season, but Tuesday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chatham Central came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  Orange, falling  11-1.
 Chatham Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brett Phillips, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Northern Nash). Everything went their way against Roanoke Rapids on Thursday as they made off with  a  25-3 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Tristan Murray made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. Murray was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Northern Nash: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-5 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  Landyn Worrell was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, six  RBI,  and three  runs. Those  six  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ben Edgerton, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 Chatham Central dropped their record down to 4-11 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Northern Nash,  the  win  got them back to even at 6-6.
