Mid-Penn - Commonwealth recap October 1, 2013
Central Dauphin moved up to 69 from 111 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth. The Rams climbed the ranks as a result of beating State College 34-0.
Cumberland Valley was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Chambersburg. The Eagles came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
pat irwin was a passing and rushing force as the Little Lions lost to Central Dauphin. He completed 16 passes for 199 yards and also ran for 28 yards. Irwin's key target this week was jordan misher, who caught 5 passes for 89 yards.
CHASE EDMONDS was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 185 yards on 24 carries as Central Dauphin East fell to Glen Mcnamee's team. RAEKWON PURDY also contributed to the rushing game with 12 yards on the ground.
6-foot-3 quarterback irwin of Al Wolski's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 587. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Curtis Jerzerick. The Mifflin County star has 11 catches for 346 yards.
At the moment, the Rams are in fifth, while Mifflin County is in first.
Harrisburg and the Huskies played the closest game in the league this week, with Harrisburg eventually emerging with a 38-34 victory.
