Basketball Recap: Amundsen Takes a Loss

Amundsen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Resurrection Bandits 74-31. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.

Charlii Lopez and Jane Belmont certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Lopez posted ten points and eight boards, while Belmont had 12 points. That was a full 38.7% of Amundsen's points, marking the third time in a row Belmont has earned more than a third of the team's points. Penny Mesch also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Amundsen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Resurrection, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

Amundsen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Willows Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Resurrection, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ridgewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
