Football Recap: Academy of Richmond County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Academy of Richmond County and Stephenson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Academy of Richmond County had to settle for second. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 42-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Musketeers have suffered since November 5, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Academy of Richmond County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Hand threw for 202 yards and one touchdown.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jayden Johnson and Anthony Booker. Johnson rushed for 221 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries while Booker rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 103 every time he's taken the field this season.

Academy of Richmond County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6. As for Stephenson, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Academy of Richmond County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stephenson, they will take on Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
