The Springfield Senators will square off against the Taylorville Tornadoes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Springfield's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Taylorville has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Mia Volpert was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.
