Preview: Yerington Lions vs. Oasis Academy Bighorns
The Yerington Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oasis Academy Bighorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Yerington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Silver Stage 68-32 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Yerington has posted since December 5, 2023.
Yerington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Thom out in front who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kp Picotte jr, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Oasis Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 45-20 margin over Sierra Lutheran. The victory was just what Oasis Academy needed coming off of a 67-46 loss in their prior match.
Yerington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Oasis Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-9.
Yerington beat Oasis Academy 61-53 in their previous matchup last Friday. Will Yerington repeat their success, or does Oasis Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
