Softball Recap: Tolsia Comes Up Short

Belfry hit Tolsia with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels came up short against the Pirates, falling 13-2. The Rebels have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Tolsia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keira Maynard, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Tolsia's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Belfry, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Tolsia will venture away from home to take on Cross Lanes Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Belfry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapmanville Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.5, the Tigers 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
