Volleyball Recap: Golden's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After flying high against Eagle Valley on Friday, Golden came back down to earth. The Demons fell 3-1 to the Heritage Eagles on Saturday. The Demons' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Trinity Simon paced Golden's offense, picking up 12 kills. Simon got some help from Dayton Ward and her 42 assists. Nieve Hooyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Avery Samson was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 13 digs and five assists. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

Golden's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Heritage, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Coincidentally, Golden and Heritage will both be playing Douglas County the next time they take the court. The Demons will head out to face the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
