Football Recap: Duncan Takes a Loss

Duncan lost against Newcastle back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Demons lost to the Racers at home by a 44-28 margin. While losing is never fun, the Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Racers are ranked 31st).

Newcastle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Bradford led the charge by rushing for 241 yards and one score while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Bradford is now averaging an impressive 105.8 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Rogers, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.

Duncan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Newcastle, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Duncan is set to square off against their familiar foe Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Newcastle will face off against rival Midwest City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
