Baseball Recap: Brownstown Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against South Ripley

There's no place like home for Brownstown Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the South Ripley Raiders on Saturday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Brownstown Central got a great performance from Evan Schneider as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Schneider has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dalton Reedy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grant Killey, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Brownstown Central's record is now 14-8. As for South Ripley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownstown Central will challenge Silver Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Ripley, they will square off against Rising Sun at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Shiners have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
