Volleyball Recap: Briana Rizo Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bonsall

Valley Center won the last time they faced Bonsall and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Legionnaires with a sharp 3-0 win.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-10, 25-15.

Valley Center's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Briana Rizo, who had 21 digs and eight aces. Those eight aces gave Rizo a new career-high. Olivia Becker was another key player, getting eight aces and three digs.

Valley Center now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bonsall, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Center will venture away from home to face off against Mountain Empire at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Redhawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bonsall, they are taking a road trip to square off against Warner at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
