North's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Alhambra Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Lions since April 13, 2023.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-17, 24-26, 26-24, 15-12.

Jerome Buckner paced North's offense, picking up 26 kills. Buckner got some help from Daniel Alamo Gonzalez and his 28 assists. Richard Solorzano and Capitan Quintana kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Dillin Landey and Julian Rodriguez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Landey had 20 digs and six assists, while Rodriguez had ten digs and three aces. Matthew Ixtabalan Oroxom also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

The win got North back to even at 7-7. As for Alhambra, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

North has already played their next contest (against Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Alhambra, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Glendale on the 16th.
