Softball Preview: Harrison County Thorobreds vs. Bourbon County Colonels        
        
		
            The Harrison County Thorobreds will square off against the Bourbon County Colonels at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Bourbon County took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on Harrison County, who comes in off a win.
Bourbon County will be up against a hot Harrison County  team: the  squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Harrison County put the hurt on Mercer County with a sharp  12-1 victory on Friday.
 Isabella Persinger and  Shyanne Ross were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing,  Persinger   tossed 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Ross   didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. At the plate,  Persinger  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4, while  Ross  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  Persinger a new career-high.

 In other batting news, Harrison County let  Emma Hamm and  Owyn McCoy run wild. Hamm  scored three  runs while going 3-for-4, while  McCoy  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave  Hamm a new career-high in  runs.  Aleigha Newby was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Harrison County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mercer County only posted  an  OBP of  .200.
 Meanwhile, Bourbon County had to start their season on the road  last Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against  Lincoln County, falling  13-4. Sadly, the  loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
 Everything went Harrison County's way against Bourbon County in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, as Harrison County made off with  an  11-1 win. Does  Harrison County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bourbon County turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
