Softball Recap: Karns City Wins Going Away Against Brookville

Karns City won the last time they faced Brookville and things went their way on Monday too. Karns City was the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Brookville. The result was nothing new for the Gremlins, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Addison Burrows was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Jessica Rodgers and Aubrey Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Rodgers went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Taylor scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Ronni Radaker was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

The win made it two in a row for Karns City and bumps their season record up to 3-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 14.5 hits in those games compared to only 3.6 in the others. As for Brookville, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
