Recap: Carolina Academy Bobcats vs. Florence Christian Eagles
The Carolina Academy Bobcats's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-28 win over Florence Christian. The squad ran away with 29 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
Florence Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emerson Poston, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Poston hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Lyla Broach was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Carolina Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Florence Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.
Carolina Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Williamsburg Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. King's Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
