Northwest Whitfield waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Gilmer Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Tuesday.

Northwest Whitfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Paola Cuna was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and one assist. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high.

Northwest Whitfield's win bumped their record up to 24-13. As for Gilmer, their loss dropped their record down to 13-21.

Northwest Whitfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Adairsville on the 30th. As for Gilmer, they are taking a road trip to square off against Southeast Whitfield County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
