Softball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

Walnut blew New Site out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday New Site got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Royals by a score of 10-8. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Royals earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Walnut's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for New Site, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-15.

Coming up, Walnut will challenge Thrasher at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Site, they are taking a road trip to square off against Biggersville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
