Basketball Recap: Helias Comes Up Short

Helias lost against Lutheran back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Helias Crusaders had to suffer through a 85-39 loss at the hands of the Lutheran Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Cougars are ranked fourth).

This is the second loss in a row for Helias and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Helias didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-36 loss against Hickman on the 17th. Lutheran has also already played their next contest (against Marquette), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
