            Hammond Morton hadn't done well against Highland recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Hammond Morton Governors blew past the Highland Trojans 72-52. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hammond Morton to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Kylah KP Patterson, who  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and 21  rebounds. Patterson has been hot for a while, having  posted ten or more  boards the last 33 times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chanteze Holland, who  went 11 of 18  on her way to 26  points and six  steals.
 Hammond Morton  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 26  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive rebounds in five consecutive  games.
 When it comes to explaining why Highland lost, don't look at  Jordan Steele. Despite the final result, she  went 11 of 21  on her way to 37 points and four  steals. That was a full 71.2% of Highland's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's   posted  more than a third of the team's points. Hammond Morton pushed their record up to 9-1 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
