Basketball Recap: Dickinson Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

If Brazoswood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Dickinson, they should've done a better job of containing David Chong. The Dickinson Gators blew past the Brazoswood Buccaneers 85-44 on Saturday thanks in part to Chong, who went 7 of 13 en route to 25 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. That's the most steals he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Caleb Lopez was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals. He has become a key player for Dickinson: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 7-9 otherwise.

Dickinson has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Brazoswood, they dropped their record down to 10-17 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Dickinson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-40 victory against Clear Springs on the 29th. Brazoswood has also already played their next game, a 52-46 loss against Deer Park on the 29th.
