Baseball Recap: Anclote Comes Up Short

Anclote lost against Countryside on March 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Anclote fell 8-5 to Countryside.

Anclote saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Ramos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Ramos has posted since back in February. Nathan Langley was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Anclote has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. Countryside has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Anclote will face off against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mitchell will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Anclote surely won't give up without a fight. As for Countryside, they will take on IMG Academy Navy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Countryside 3.7, IMG Academy Navy 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
