Baseball Game Preview: Woodbridge Warriors vs. Northwood Timberwolves

The Woodbridge Warriors will take on the Northwood Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodbridge hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Last Friday, Woodbridge didn't have quite enough to beat Laguna Beach and fell 2-1.

Alex Johnson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Woodbridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Stottlemyer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Northwood and Irvine had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Northwood fell 4-1 to Irvine on Friday. Timberwolves fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vaqueros since on Friday.

Northwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6-1. As for Woodbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Woodbridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwood when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Woodbridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
