Baseball Game Preview: Green Valley Gators vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Green Valley will face off against Spring Valley. The Gators will host the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Green Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Spring Valley, who was ranked 24th at the time (Green Valley was ranked 18th). The Gators walked away with a 4-1 win over the Grizzlies on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won five in a row.

Jeremiah Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jet McNelis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Ferry, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Green Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Spring Valley, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13-2.
