Softball Game Preview: Fontainebleau Bulldogs vs. Northshore Panthers

Fontainebleau is 1-9 against Northshore since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fontainebleau Bulldogs will challenge the Northshore Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Fontainebleau is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Fontainebleau came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Chalmette by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Caroline Butscher was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. McKinley Mardis was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Northshore unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of East Ascension by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since February 19, 2024.

Fontainebleau's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Northshore, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Fontainebleau couldn't quite finish off Northshore when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can Fontainebleau avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
