Recap: Brindlee Mountain Lions vs. Madison Academy Mustangs
This season hasn't been kind to The Brindlee Mountain Lions, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were dealt a 74-0 loss at the hands of Madison Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Brindlee Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Madison Academy is ranked 71st).
Kenyon Cherry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison Academy, rushing for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Cherry was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Reece, who picked up 151 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Brindlee Mountain's defeat was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Madison Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Brindlee Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Madison Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Susan Moore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
